Reading an Image

The colour of this image of this is black and white this connotes that the artist has had good and bad sides also it could could show that he's classical.

There is a separation in the image this connotes that the artist has changed his life around also the line in the middle could connote the borderline between good and bad , as the picture on the right shows finger prints to do with prison but on the left its a picture of 50Cent dressed in expensive clothing.

The text on the picture that says "I am what I am" this shows that the advert is trying to display a statement as the font is big and thick. At the bottom right hand corner of the poster is the rebox logo , it is not as big as all the other fonts , this connotes that the brand is very well known.

The picture in on the poster is a medium shot of the rapper 50cent, He uses this shot to show his full emotion and jewellery. This shot is a good way to get the audiences attention, also the finger print picture is from a birds eye view so that the audience can see the detail of the photo. The shot is quite close this is a good way of showing the audience who the person is in the poster , this could attract fans.




The subject of the poster is to showed that 50cent once had a dangerous life as you can see from the finger prints , but also the poster shows that he has changed for the better . I believe that rebox are trying to insinuate that that anyone can change. I think this would mainly attract people that have grew up through trouble.

The photo looks like its been taken indoors in and in front of a green screen to create an effect. also lighting is showing different shades on 50 cents face this makes him look powerful. Also the black and white lighting creates a negative mood towards the audience. The director uses Mise-en-scene excellently as the only lighting shown is the one on his face which brings all the attention to him.

50cents pose is negavtive showing us that he is in a serious mood , also showing us that hes changed and that he is more serious about life.

Media Consumption

I usually read celebrity magazines but I don't buy them regularly because I prefer to watch the the news. I enjoy reading the information about my favourite celebrities and what's happening in their career so far , i enjoy reading those sections because I have a really big interest in music.

I watch about 49hours of T.V a week (I know I'm an addict). On a school day I think I usually watch T.V in the mornings and evenings , the channels I would say I like the best are MTV bass , BBC3, Comedy central and a tiny bit of cartoon network. I'm an only child so I usually watch T.V by myself , if I was watching T.V with a friend I would decide what to watch.

My favourite radio stations are Choice FM, BBC 1Xtra and Unique FM. I would say I spend 2-3 hours a week listening to the radio, I usually listen to the radio either in the afternoon or evening. I don't really dislike any radio stations because I only pay attention to the radio stations that I like, I usually listen to the radio with my mum at home.

I don't usually go cinema a lot but I've seen "21 jump street" in the past month. But on the other hand I have watched many movies on T.V which were Cool Runnings , Home alone, Rush Hour3 and a couple others. I watched these films with one of my friends and we both decided what to watch as we both enjoy watching the same types of films.

I access the internet everyday at home and at school , the main sites I visit are usually Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr and YouTube. The main reason i visit these sites is for social reasons and also to show my talent and meet new people.

Media

I enjoyed my first day of media in Greenford high , I feel as if this subject was made for me ! The course isn't easy but nothings easy in life , luckily my music and filming partner is in my class so hopefully we do damage and get a high grade :) LOL ! But I really hope I do well in this subject, as media is a subject that I think I can show my full potential in. My teachers are great and very enthusiastic so there should be no problem doing well.
